Hey Little Ant - Phillip and Hannah Hoose
Ever thought about what life would look like from an ants point of view?🐜🐜🐜🐜
Hey Little Ant is a wonderful story that gives a voice to one of our smallest insect garden creatures. "We are so big and ants are so small, do their lives matter at all?"
The story is narrated by 'boy' and 'ant' and begins when a boy threatens to squish a little ant under his shoe. You see, to the boy ants are too small to feel. In his experience ants are rude, they steal food and for fun, the kids at school play games where they take turns to squish ants.
The ant does a very convincing job of showing the boy that although they are small, ants lives are important and perhaps they aren't so different from humans. The little ant turns the story around and asks the powerful question "if you were me and I was you, what would you want me to do?"
In the end, the lingering cliff-hanging question is left up to the reader - to squish or not to squish, what would you do?
The perfect story to look at different perspectives, teach empathy and point of view or just a great read for a little bug lover. 🐜🐛🐞🐌🕷️🐝
